    Angry htc sense password change?

Everytime my phone syncs HTC sense I get a notification in my drop down bar telling me to re-enter my account password for HTC sense... Just started happening out of the blue.. I have had my velocity 4g for 3 weeks now and never had this come up b4... Really annoying does anyone know a fix? And yes I have entered my password and it goes away but as soon as it syncs again same message appears.

    Thumbs down

I'm having the same issue on my DHD would very much like to know the answer to this, it doesn't seem to check my password at all when I re-enter I can even leave it blank and that makes the notification go away

I have the same problem it started yesterday all of a sudden. i contacted HTC and told them about the problem, also told them that I am sure that the password is correct since I can sign in at htcsense.com. they replied telling me that htcsense.com service is not available anymore since february.

now I dont know if this was a misunderstanding (i.e. the support person thought that I was trying to login at htcsense.com) or the htc sense account in the phone is all about the htcsense.com services (remote locate/lock/reset, remote call etc) as these services are no longer available.

I was going to try to remove the htc sense from the accounts but it warned me that all contacts will be deleted (although I don't think so since contacts are synced through the google account) however I did not risk loosing my contacts & messages.

still waiting for another reply from htc support

trying to communicate with htc rep but getting nowhere: this is what they replied now : Dearsir, the password that HTC Sense it is ask is the password for Google accountfrom your phone i presume, however if you try to remove the Google account fromyour phone this can be done only if you perform a factory reset to your phone, this step will delete all your data from the phone memory. You can make abackup of your data from your phone. To make a backup of your contacts pleasedo the following, go to: All application > People > Menu >Import/Export > Export to SD card. now all your contacts are saved over theSD card so every time you need to add those contacts to your phone just repeatthe steps All application > People > Menu > Import/Export > andchoose import from SD card.

i think that all you have to do (i didnt bother to try) is remove htc sync account from settings>accounts & sync> htc sense>remove account (not as they told me above). this has nothing to do with google account! wtf htc!

i do not know if this may delete your contacts or whatever, so make sure to backup if u try it!

    *edit*
or you can also unselect sync htc sense from the same menu

settings>accounts & sync>htc sense> untick Sync HTC Sense, re-enter your password for the last time (hopefully). however I dont know what kind of info HTC sense is synchronizing. that worked for me

I have the same problem with my Sensation, keeps wanting the password re-entered. What dose HTC Sense do anyway, none of the features work when you login online and "Wheres My Droid Power" tells me that HTC Sens uses twice as much power than the next power hungry app on my phone! Can it be got rid of?

    reply from htc rep:
Dearsir, from what you say that you use the same email and password for theHTCsense.com and you can log in on the site, but when you use the same emailand password on the HTCSense from the phone and now the password doesn't work, please try to use another Wi-Fi connection and try to put the account andpassword on HTCSense from the phone, if this step it's doesn't help you pleasecontact us back for more information.

this is BS, of course using another internet access point didn't work.

still have no idea what HTC Sense is all about. as i said I don't know if it is only used for the stuff at htcsense.com (remote lock etc), which don't work anyway

    Default Same here...

same error here. all of a sudden it keeps nagging for the password. tried to delete account and create a new one (both on handheld and desktop) which interestingly did not really work: while i can click "delete account" on the desktop and everything is confirmed, i will not be able, then, to create a new account under the same email address.

in the end, i re-logged-in with the old credentials and thata, was able to login on the desktop.

on the handheld: removed and re-signed in into the htc account (in sync settings) and still getting the error message. thanx for sharing if you find out what's wrong. this is annoying...

Having the same issues, removed and re-added account, even deleted my htcsense.com account, still requesting password.
