    Default question wrt memory space

sorry pretty simplistic question im afraid. have not yet bought my android phone but i think it will have 1gb internal memory space. im so hyped over gettin it i started lookin at apps to put on it. there are 52 apps ive marked for putting on it. is it likely with just 1gb space that itll fit them all?? i have no idea how large these apps normally are. i know your going to say depends on the app size but im thinkin u guys with the phones could give me an estimate on your experience as to whether u have enough space to fit the apps u want or whether your deleting to make space for new.......
any knowledge or advice greatly appreciated

I don't know Android but iin my Win Mobile phone it is pretty easy to fill the internal memory with applications.

52 Apps sounds like a LOT but perhaps Android apps are less complicated than WinMobile and smaller? More like iPhone apps.

In my WM phone I also have to allow memory for the Operating System to run in and that eats up space too.

Sorry not helping much but I'm sure some Androiders out there will be able to clarify for you
My current device is a HTC Touch HD

I'm not a Droid user either, Not as smooth or stable as WinMo. The truth is; Noone can answer your question. The only way that your question could be answered is if you listed all 52 apps that you intended on installing to your device. {Please DO NOT list them} Just with any software, the amount of space needed will vary from app to app. As such, you question is unanswerable.

But: a lil' food for thought! As far as I know, every droid out there has a microSD slot. I believe the 1GB memory that you are seeing is the memory card that is included. Of course there are a few devices that have an internal memory as well as a card slot. But; since you do not tell which device you are looking at getting; I cant tell you what you expansion options are.

52 apps is a hell of a lot. Do you actually need these apps or are they for fun {or a mix of both}? The less CRAP you put on the device the Better it runs. And Android needs all the help it can get.

thanks for the replies guys. i plan on getting the htc supersonic as soon as it comes out. the 1gb memory is internal memory, which officially is the only way you can run applications. memory cards cant b ran from. however if i get a 'rooted' phone then its possible to use a program called app2sd though the process sounds complicated. on a plus side whilst browsing last night i saw an internet tech newsitem dated jan2010 which said that soon it may b made possible to run apps from memory card officially.

as regards the apps, its allsorts of programs, from google maps to locale to sms-popup- only 2 games i think out of the 52. i just browsed the top 101 / best 50 android app articles and found so much i liked. lol wish u hadnt said dont post the list as lol was all ready to cut n paste it

IF it comes out; you mean. The Supersonic {A9292} is currently nothing more then a rumor/pipe-dream. PdaDB has no listing of the device. Every article that I found about it, only states the possibility of it's existence. There are no confirmations as yet; tho one article claims it has been released thru Yota {Russian carrier}. Sprint rumored about it at the latest CES, but will not comment as to when {or even if} they plan to introduce the device. Personally, I think it's as ugly as homemade sin; get rid of the red bar on top & it may look a lil' better.

Since the device is nothing more then a rumor; there are no real specs about it. Where did you read about a 1GB internal storage? Are you sure you weren't mistaken by the 1GHz processor? I just read over several articles that speculate about the device, but none of them have any REAL specs listed. I doubt very highly that HTC would limit the Memory to 1GB & not include an SD slot. They learned their mistake with the Diamonds {Everyone bitched that the memory wasn't expandable}. IF the device is to become reality, you will find full specs listed at PdaDB.com.

yup, i looked at so many news clips i cant remem where i saw the 1gb, i may be mistaking it for the 1ghz snapdragon u r right. rumours r it also has sd card slot but as applications wont officially run from sd card slot yet, makes it irrelevant imho.
ill be sure to chk out the pdadb sight on a regular basis as at present it is rumours. im just hoping its announced as a reality at the barcelona expo later this month.
    thanks for replies.
