    Default Cannot sync contacts

Hi, I have just downloaded the latest HTC sync software and when I sync my Desire the contacts are not "active" ie greyed out and therefore I cannot back them up. Any ideas please? Thanks.

I gave up on HTC Sync not long after installing it (Desire HD). I now use MyPhoneExplorer via a wifi link. It just works.

Have you got them enabled in your settings on your phone? Menu>settings>Accounts and sync> click on the account you are after and check sync contacts and calendar or whatever else is there.

Thankks for the tip about myphoneexplorer-it is really easy to use and as a mechanism for backing things up and editing contacts etc is fine-very easy to use-won't be bothering with htc sync any more

I've done the same, I tried for some hours to use the HTC software, but as my normal user within the domain does not have Administrator privileges, I could not get it to sync. Five minutes after downloading MyPhoneExplorer I had all my contacts from Outlook on my new HD Desire. Love the phone, but HTC sync is really useless as a business application. Nothing should require Administrator rights for just using an application.
