Default Adobe AIR 2.7 lets disappear HTC Sync 3.0.5551

    Hello

This morning I've got the update Adobe AIR 2.7. Thus made the application HTC Sync disappear when the device was connected. Now I've reinstalled Adobe AIR 2.6 again and HTC Sync works fine as before.

May I ask you to check the compatibility between Adobe AIR 2.7 and HTC Sync 3.0.5551?
    I'm using Windows 7 SP1 64bit and a HTC Desire Z.
    Thanks

    Kind regards,
    Andreas

This is happening to me too on my Sensation and Wildfire S. Are you sure it is AIR 2.7 though? I did recently upgraded AIR at about the time of this issue, but it was also the time that I added the Wildfire S to the group-used PC (I have Sensation and my daughter just got the Wildfire). I have since uninstalled and reinstalled htc drivers and sync 10 times and same issue ...... sync is fine as long as no phone is plugged into USB ... as soon as you plug it in it starts to connect and then it goes away. No syncing happens (and I had finally got it working well on my Sensation). SYNC REALLY SUCKS!

Yes I'm sure. Because I've deinstalled AIR 2.7 and reinstalled Air 2.6. After that HTC Sync was running fine again.
You can just deinstall AIR and start a repair installation of HTC Sync. It will reinstall AIR 2.6, too.

    Hi Everyone.

This also was an issue for me with my HTC Inspire 4G in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit. HTC Sync would open fine without my phone attached, but as soon as I connected my phone and tried a sync, HTC Sync would then appear for about a half second, disappearing to the notification bar. Since this was a new install I wasnt able to ever configure syncs.

Removing AIR 2.7 and installing 2.6 resolved the issue immediately. Once I removed AIR 2.7 and installed 2.6 HTC Sync opened right up with the phone attached and I had full access to the application. Syncs now work great. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for this - same thing happened with my HTC Sensation and I uninstalled AIR 2.7 and reinstalled 2.6 and it has fixed it - I can now see the device and select options. Now how to get the calendar and people info to actually appear.... it says can't copy the contacts, any ideas? Calendar info isn't copying either.

    Default Solved with version 3.0.5579

Same problem with HTC Desire S and after contact to HTC support (they are really fast and competent ) installing the latest version 3.0.5579 was suggested (Application - HTC Sync for all HTC Android Devices & HTC Smart). New version comes with Adobe AIR 2.7.1.19610, I uninstalled all HTC-Packages+Adobe AIR 2.6 before and new installation was good (MSXML 4.0 SP3 failed, but HTCsync works now - without crashing).

Sorry but new problems - big problems - came up with the new version: sync buttons are grey and not accessible, so the application does not crash, but it does not work, too. HTC support had absolutely no idea what was going on, they could only send some textblocks about uninstalling/installing etc. After having wasted hours of failure analysis, I found MyPhoneExplorer, which is free software and works with HTC Desire, too. I uninstalled all buggy HTC-software and sync now to Outlook (Calendar+Contacts) smoothly.

    Default Blame BBC iPlayer

It is true that you need to go back to Air Version 2.6. I hadn't realised, but by installing BBC iPlayer desktop it automatically installed Air 2.7. As previously advised, uninstall Air completely. No need to restart. Then reinstall HTC Sync and choose repair when given the option. That worked for me although I haven't tried BBC Desktop iPlayer since.
