I'd first try a different card to help determine if the problem is with the card or the device.

I've got this same problem too.
Tried formatting the card to FAT32 as suggested in some forums and it doesn't occur quite as often anymore (once a week compared to about 3 times a day)...but still does.
Anyone been able to fix this?
Appreciate any comments you may have.

When my DHD plays music (default player) fullscreen and if screen swaps from portrate to landscape my SD card unmounts shortly and sets itself onto Read-Only mode (music plays but with little pause) after remounting SD card music stops and this all started after last update (din`t tryed with anoher player). This is annoying realy. I don`t wana another player beause default one have SRS and Dolby EQ

This issue is due to the stock SD card. When you try to playback the higher resolution video that was taken from the camera, the issue starts. The stock SD card comes under Class 2 where the transfer rate is 2MBps. Things will come into control when you use a Class 4 (or 6) SD card.

I have had the SD card problem with the message some people have quoted. I tried switching the phone off and refitting the SD card, a soft reboot and a factory reset. Eventually Orange sent me a new phone because they told me the card reader part of the phone was broken. I then spoke to HTC customer services and found out that some carriers...i.e. Orange etc, had sent out a software upgrade of some kind which in some cases and with only some Desire HD's, flashed the SD card of all its data...Great! When this happens, your phone won't read any SD cards, not just the one it was supplied with, so your phone will need replacing.

Tried with several SD cards 2,8,16 Gb however all them are class 2 .have you tried with class 4 or above? i donīt want to keep buying more and more cards . I complained to HTC but still no clear answer came to light.
