This looks suspiciously like the problem I'm having.
I have removed all updated for the Facebook and Facebook for HTC Sense apps, but I still see linked FB contacts. Is there any other setting I'm missing?
thanks,
Peter

exact same problem here - I also noticed that my incredible s is sucking way more juice out of my battery than before (with the exact same apps and settings before the update)
really annoyed and sickened by this issue. for sure my last HTC for a long time.

Hi,
last week, I did a factory reset on my Desire S, and this seems to have cured the problem.
I did have to relink all my facebook-contacts with the Google ones, but that's a minor inconvenience, IMHO. I haven't had any crashes or strange behaviour since.

Having read thsi thread, I just tried dialling myself from home - couldn't dismiss the call in locked mode!!! I don't even HAVE any Facebook contacts to delete! I can no longer sync my work email/calendar following upgradign yesterday, and like you, don't like the whilrling home screen. This is rubbish!

this update seems designed to drive away customers. Not only do I have the bug that freezes the phone hen someone calls you, but now I can't turn the effing phone off!
I have the 2.3.5 update with 3.0 Sense. At first it just froze up while rejecting a call, so I pulled the battery. I un-linked all my contacts as suggested above, cleared the facebook app data and even uninstalled the updates for it. now my phone now longer has the ability to switch off (holding down the power key for any length of time just locks the phone) and it's not taking calls at all. I had my housemate call me to test it, I had signal, and yet it went straight to voicemail.
Is there any way to uninstall system updates? Or travel back in time and warn myself off?
Seriously, HTC, pull your fingers out and fix this.

My phone has exactly the same problem. Phone calls from contacts linked to either Facebook or Yahoo crash the phone. If I choose to answer the call, the SIM card disconnects and the whole thing reboots itself. If I choose to reject the call, the phone continues ringing, the screen stays on, everything freezes, and this goes on for about 5-10 min or till for some reason the phone decides that it's ok to reboot itself, which it proceeds to do. Sometimes, it doesn't even ring on the incoming call, just freezes instantly.
All this idiocy started happening after the upgrade to version 2.3.5. Until then, there was no weird twirling homescreen, none of those balls on the lock screen that hang up and freeze the phone, and everything worked like magic. Since the upgrade, all I wish for is that there were some way to downgrade it to the previous OS version. Am NOT happy!

I have heard that soon all android versions will be upgraded to 4. So the platform is one and only, rather than this mess of so many versions. Hope this will solve the problem
I am facing crashes, but i have not detected that these come from fb link contacts. I see sometimes com.android.phone etc, my phone restarts and this takes ages. Someother times it just ask me again for my pin. Annoying both.

Having similar problems after update to 2.3.5 - having to force close upon receiving a call when the screen is locked. Also considerably slower running since upgrade, ptic when writing texts etc, keys very slow to respond. Seems this upgrade is full of bugs, the most serious being the call receiving one. On a more subjective note, the graphics are also silly and over the top, and look unprofessional.
Anyone know a reliable downgrade or patch option? Or do I just have to cave in and buy a phone with decent software design?

Anyone want to downgrade after 2.3.5 - Please reply
OK, I know I keep banging on about this but I am thoroughly fed up with HTC and Vodafone
Since the 2.3.5 OTA upgrade which I was recommended to do on my desire S, things have not been the same, silly spinning menus, slow laggy interface, alarm clock snooze not working from unlock, aforementioned call handling issues, calculator IU ruined, Sense weather app, daft white font is unreadable… etc etc etc - I want to go back.
So after literally HOURS on the phone to HTC and Vodafone both blaming each other, I escalated it in Vodafone who said they would down grade it for me… One week later the phone comes back all and all they’ve done is a feckin factory reset - Cheers Vodafone.
So, after reloading and reconfiguring all my data & settings… FIRST DAY, I get this No Signal nonsense, phone is still laghy and nothing is really fixed.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, if you have any 2.3.5 issues, reply to this thread in order to get HTC and/or Vodafone or any other provider to sort this mess out.
