Default Android 2.2 and HTC Sync

    Hi All,

Is anyone having a problem syncing with PC since upgrading to Android 2.2?? My Desire can't find HTC Sync installed in my laptop, even though I have the latest version of HTC Sync!

    Any advices??

    Thanks,
    Ahmed

I have the same problem. It only seemed to start when I upgraded to Office 2010. HTC are being somewhat less than helpful with resolving this problem. The old sync doesn't recognise my phone anymore and the new sync program won't allow me to sync contacts or my calendar - probably the most important aspect for me.

I had the same problem and after trying for many hours it worked. Too bad I don't remember what I did, but now it's working

For 4 months I've been trying to get my HTC Desire ( Andoid 2.2) to sync with my Outlook 2007 SP2 (Windows 7, 64-bit) using HTC Sync. I've tried successive versions of HTC Sync including version 3.0.5481 which I downloaded yesterday. HTC Sync has proved to be unreliable and has repeatedly corrupted my Outlook data, making repeated restores from backup necessary. I am very reluctant to make blanket statements about software but despite my persistence and doggedness with searches for solutions on the Internet and contacts with HTC, HTC Sync has proved to be a total failure and time-waster. It is a disgrace to a company of that size and reputation that they cannot provide reliable software to connect their flagship phone to a mail client that is very widely used both in the home and corporate environments. Last night I gave up in disgust and downloaded and ran MyPhoneExplorer ( FJ Software Development ). I wish I had done so months ago. It transferred my Outlook data to my HTC Desire with no quibbling and without corrupting the Outlook database. Installing it was a bit tricky but part of that was me being dim. MyPhoneExplorer is free but I'm sending them a donation today for solving my problem. I have no financial relationship to MyPhoneExplorer or its authors.

Smile HTC Sync V2 & V3 do not work

Thanks Pacman10. I too became exasperated with getting the HTC Sync's to work on my HTC Droid Incredible. On your suggestion, downloaded MyPhoneExplorer, installed, synced and all is well. Donated to the author as a great program. Unistalled all the HTC Sync garbage. Goodbye to HTC Sync.
