Default Please help before I throw this thing out !!! Emails being deleted within minutes.

    Hi Folks

Have left Blackberry for the HTC Desire - brilliant piece of kit but I am having serious teething problems with email that are making me yearn for the Blackberry again.

I appreciate that where email is concerned Blackberry is King but I honestly thought that The desire would at least be usable in some shape or form.

I am on the Orange UK network. I am waiting for them to setup push email but they are a disaster.

In the meantime I have set device to pull every 15 mins.

I have 2 email domains that i need to have access to.

Supanet for personal email and another POP based email for my work stuff.

The work one is fine and but I cannot get Supanet to work properly. I have entered all settings properly (I think) When I do a manual pull the email comes in ok but disappears / deletes itself within minutes - anyone know why this is doing this. (Not sure if its relevent but I also access the same email on my PC also)

    Thanks in advance.

    L

I've had the same problem with my Virgin Media mail for weeks and was told by Carphone Warehouse I'd have to send the phone off to be repaired which I'm loath to do as it might take a month to get back. Every new automated pull of emails would totally wipe out any previous ones still in my inbox...read or unread. My workaround is to set it to manual pull and simply make sure every mail already in the inbox has been read and can be deleted. Then I do a refresh and get new ones. Not right by any means and it wasn't doing this before 2.2 but as I thought I was the only one with the problem, I assumed it was a wonky phone. I'm on Orange too by the way.

UPDATE : Went to my post on here and Sigma had given me a solution which worked a treat. In effect, change the account setup from POP3 to IMAP.

So relieved to have incoming emails working as they should and hope this works for you.
