Thread: Can't login to HTC Sense through my phone?

I've registered online with HTC sense, and got to the step where it asks me to login with my phone.

I've gone to Setup on my phone where it said to go, saying that I should login when the HTC Sense screen comes up. However, no HTC Sense comes up during the setup?

I've also tried going to HTC Sense website through the phone's browser, but it just has the loading screen constantly cycling through?

The phone is an HTC Desire, I'm on Orange (UK) and the OS is Android 2.2

The newest HTC sense that uses htcsense.com ships on the new Desire Z and HD currently. HTC haven't updated any of their older devices yet, not sure when and if the new HTC sense is coming to them

I thought that might be the case. So if I lose my phone I'm screwed cos someone can get into my gmail account and change my password. Seems very shortsighted not to include remote locking for the normal desire, unless its possible to do so another way?

I've got the new Desire HD and I have the same issue - I cant get onto HTC Sense on the web, it gets to a page where you click "I have signed in on my phone" which results in a whirlygig spinning around as it apparently tries to log me in, but with zero result. Also, I can't get any results from "Locations" when seeking nearby shops, restaurants etc (yes I've enabled satellites) and nothing from the car panel - I can use Google's installed navigation, but not HTC's. Any pointers?

Further, I seem to have sorted it. Go to menu-settings-accounts&sync, and delete the htc sense account listed. Then don't create a new account, just sign in which will place htc sense back on the phone. Having done that, go to your pc and try and sign in again...... worked for me. Only things to figure out now is how to get locations working and why Sense keeps suggesting 'friends' of whom I have no knowldege. Odd.

Same problem as woodsy and duke, phone hangs in loading step and cannot get past verify device page on PC. Very dissapointed that such a simple problem like signing up to HTC Sense is an issue...

Hi there, I tried all possible way to connect my phone with HTC sense and I can't seem to gget through either. Phone just doesn't responmd to actions taken on the account on the website. Could you help please or explain what the problem is?

I guess slight firmware changes, i.e. new HTC Sense, is probably one of the very few advantages of Desire HD and Desire Z (other major one being more RAM and ROM in HD; not counting the keyboard in Z which some may find useful, but not me) over Desire, larger display being hardly a feature, considering it makes the whole phone bigger. Yeah, right, if it even was a *slightest* problem to bring it to even older phones.

Same problem here for several months now! HTC just told me: "Due to server maintenance and performance issues, we were forced to temporarily limit some of the services offered by htcsense.com."
