Unhappy with current hardware
I've loved HTC devices in the past and I especially love HTC Sense software on Andriod powered phones. I'm an IT Supervisor and I've been promoting HTC devices in our company for a long time. BUT.... I've very disappointed in the direction HTC has taken with the hardware in their new devices. The following items below are problems I have with the new many of the new HTC phones, especially the One X line of phones. Because of these issues I've chosen to purchase the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 instead of HTC for my next phone.... even though I can't stand Samsung's Touchwiz UI. I'm so disappointed in these decisions HTC has made with these devices... they have so many great things about their phones but these few things below completely turn me away from what could have been a great phone for me.
- USB port location. I do not want a phone with the USB charging port on the side! The USB port, in my opinion, belongs on the bottom of the phone. Even though I have a smart phone I still do a lot of talking on the phone and frequently I have to charge the phone while I'm talking on it, which is awkward to do when the USB cord is sticking out of the side of it.
- MicroSD card slot. I want a phone with MicroSD expandable storage... period!!
- Removable battery. I want a phone in which I can replace the battery because I need my phone to last at least 2 years but after about 1.5 years the batteries in these phone loose about 50% of their capacity. And if I can't change replace the battery I have to charge it even more.... and deal with the USB cord sticking out of the side of the phone more.... and ware out the USB port quicker. Also to make matters worse HTC is still putting such small batteries in their phones.... I don't need a phone that's "razer" thin.... give me a phone that has a decent battery with a little more thickness.
- Inductive charging. It looks like all these phones with NON-removable batteries do not support inductive charging. I'm guessing it's because inductive charging usually requires a different back cover and obviously there's no cover to swap out when you have a non-removable battery. I want inductive charging.... it's way more convenient and helps keep the USB port from waring out as quick.Last edited by jam4775; 07-04-2012 at 07:22 AM.
