Default Convert DVD to play on HTC HD Mini

Does anybody know the best way to rip a DVD to WMV or MP4 so that it will play full screen on my HTC HD Mini. Also when playing MP4s does anybody know what the video player is that opens (it isn't Windows Media Player).

    Thanks,
    Andy

Pesonally I use Nero recode. It can convert DVDs to MP4 eaily & with great quality. The only problem is that it only works on discs without copy protection. To overcome this, just install DVD43 & you can copy any DVD.

As far as the video player: It is "HTCAlbum". This is the same program that your device uses to view pictures as well as videos.

Thanks for that. I tried Nero Recode but I only get audio and no video. Also what dimensions do you enter to get full screen with minimum black bands?

    Thanks, Andy

The only dimension you should need to set is the width (800). Be sure the prog that you use is setup to preserve the original aspect ratio of the movie. I do not alter from the orginal ratios because it eith squishes or streches the image.
Not sure why your having problems with Recode. Have you double checked all the settings to make sure you are converting to standard MP4? Also do you have a decent copyright overrider installed?

For a 'one-hit' solution, you could try DVDFab. This overrides any protection issues and converts straight to several file types, e.g. wmv and MP4 files.
