I have a HTC EVO 4G that was syncing correctly before HTCSync v 3.0.5617. I have even updated my phone to Android v. 2.3.5 and also updated the Firmware and PRL, still getting the error when trying to sync.

How long will it take for them to fix this problem. I am guessing that we are not the only ones seeing this issue.

As HTC has not responded to any of the threads posted here, I have gone back to the previous version. But you must do the following
To return to the previous version
Via Control panel remove these programs
    HTC Sync
    HTC Driver Installer
    HTC BMP USB Driver

Then Re-boot and run a Registry Cleaner
    The Reinstal
    htc sync setup_3.0.5606.exe

    This can be found at
HTC Mobile Phone Support - HTC Rezound

Make sure you only down load
    htc sync setup_3.0.5606.exe

do not allow it to update which it will ask to do as soon as you have installed it

It was not enough to restore a good synchronisation. Your process is perfect if you put the HTC back to its factory parameters to make him "forget" the HTC Sync deseases.

after all that I am still having a problem syncing calanders. How do you go about putting the htc back to the factory parameteres, and will you lose any info off the phone ?

I did a hard reset and lost any info I hadn't backed up. But at least it works now.

Default Solution from HTC customer care

REstart phone in safe mode and try again to sync. This error seems to be from a software that blocks the sync procedure. If you do not know how to reset in safe mode PM me and will tell you. IF in safe mode you will be able to sync then their solution is to unistall all the applications you have and reisntall them again one by one.

I tried to restart in safe mode but without success I will contact them again

Exclamation Found the location of the bug... Sort of.

Using the HTC Sync Ver. 3.0.5617 on Windows 7. I found that when I sync my calendar only, I am getting this error message. I selected People as the only option and got it to sync with no errors. Since I usually sync my People, Calendars and Music only I have no idea if this is the only option that has a bug. Maybe this will help HTC figure out who goofed the update!

Any combo I use without the Calendar is working like normal... FYI.
