Signal Reception Problem
I am having a HTC Incredible S. 2 weeks old. My signal is not stagnant. It fluctuates. At times 1 bar then 2 bars then 0 bar then 2 bar. but im not moving. lying down on my bed. Is there something wrong with my phone? Or is there some settings that ive not done yet?

Does this happen in any (or most) locations? If signal strength in a location is not particularly strong to begin with, it is possible to see fluctuations due to environmental issues, such as atmospheric conditions. However if the problem occurs in all/most locations you might want to send your phone to the service centre for a check-up.

I am having same problem.... its to do with upgrade to 2.3 - they changed the settings for Wifi connectivity..... and it drops the signal for no good reason......
No solution yet.... and doubt if one will come quickly.... HTC advised me to go to Service Centre to flash new ROM.... but that wont fix it as the problem is IN the ROM!!!!
XDA apparently have a custom ROM that works.... but not sure if you can do on Inc S.
I am going to demand a new model phone....

It happens in EVERY location....at home, in malls, in hotels..... everywhere.....
Its just a crap phone....... since the upgrade to 2.3
To get it repaired will take 3 weeks from where I am living so I will wait to go to Bangkok and then get an alternative model.

I'm also having same problem. In addition, loosing signal strength by -20/-25dbm during calling. Seems this is a persisting problem with the roms and the phone is simply a crap since no initiative has been taken to resolve this issue!!
HTC, are you listening??

Same problem here, it got worse since the Sense 3.0 / Android 2.3.5 update
Also the strange voice quality, echoes and alien like voice problem during calls got much worse now. I was hoping they would've fixed this by now, almost every incredible s owner are having these problems with the phone.
I'm getting tired of this, I'm not a rich person and I paid a lot of money for this phone... This will be my last HTC aswell, they don't care about us.. Only new phones, after a few months you're not worth more than trash to HTC. Did they even test this phone before they started manufacturing it?? I'm so angry now I think I'll tell all of my friends to never ever touch an HTC again because they've become so big that they've stopped caring about their customers nowadays, people always turn to me for advices since I know a lot about smartphones, both hardware and OS'es etc..

Hey Bud i figured out a fix reply if it works.....
I called my network provider and they told me to send my phone in so i decided not to and ever since than i started to figure out what is wrong. Luckily i figured it out.. If you remove your back cover you will notice that you have no signal strength. So than i did this quite a few times and yes it had no signal strength.. normally it should become stronger because it didnt have a barrier but it didnt and i notice i would lose complete signal when i took it off so and figured out where it was coming from and realized it was from the bottom of the phone behind the cover. You will see two metal rod like things and on the back of the cover a metal like strip basically the problem is they are not touching so what i did was yank the metal pieces out a little bit and ever since than its been at four bars and everyone i talk to says its not echoing or anything anymore and my signal strength has been full ever since hope this helps if you have any questions feel free to reply and i will try my best to help you out because i know how frustrating it is
