I have the same problem as all of you. People complain about the voice quality after 3-8 minutes into the call.

    Software problem
I've tried most things to solve the problem. I got to the conclution that the software is wrong, not the hardware. E.g. not the Microphone. I think it occured after the last android update (2.3.3). I experience less problems using headset as some of you noted. I think that could also ba a software problem.

    Solution
It works best when I shut down the mobile network. Therefore i think the problem belongs to datatrafic. The phone want to sync apps during the call. The new software can't handle this and the voice quality goes down. The phone sync regulary and that could be the reason why it always occur after some minutes. In other words it can't handle datatrafic and voice at the same time.

Do you get the same result?
Try to shut of the mobile data and test if it works better!

    /Peter

(We bought this model to our company. All collegues experience the same thing. )

There were some glitches after the OS update OTA. The reception of the voice was not good on the other end (the receiver's end) in some areas. But the real horrible thing happened last month. The Mic gone in the phone and I given in the service center for repair/replace it and they bomborded with the statement - "Need to change the mother board." Buy why? The reason is that the Mic and Speakers are in built with the motherboard. Cursing the fate I asked to replace (spending 7.5 grands of Indian Rupee where as it costs only 500 bucks to replace the Mic) the mother board and the service center people told that the replacement will happen immediately and the kit will be delivered in 10 days. I forgot to ask them which 10 days and it already is the 3rd 10 days (almost a month) and still the shipment of the spare is not reached from HTC factory which is located in Taiwan, Mars/Pluto (Hope Taiwan is located in Earth, lol). These people still requested me to wait for 4 more days to get the shipment of the spares. The HTC is making the life of its customers miserable with the stand "Hell To Customer".

And guys don't shell out money on the new mobiles too from HTC as all the kits are having the same configuration, the important parts are in built with the mother board and these people sucks your money like anything. I say Incredible S as Incredible Sucks.

Just bought an Incredible S a few days ago... Brand new device with exactly the same problem... One person even got scared 2 days ago... apparently I all of a sudden sounded like a monster?!?!! Sounds weird I know but that's what she told me... I wish I read more about this phone before I sold my perfectly working HTC Desire :'( I had to sell it just to afford this phone that I thought would be a nice upgrade.... Seems like this issue is affecting all Incredible S owners, more or less... Wth is going on? I've been a HTC fan for many years and I'm shocked to see HTC just ignoring us...This is a major issue that needs to be fixed asap or HTC will start losing customers... This reminds me of how Sony Ericsson screwed their P990i users back in the days... SE became a sinking ship among smartphone users after that... I hope HTC takes this issue seriously, right now I'm seriously concidering Samsung next time

    Hi guys...
Sorry if I am posting this i a wrong section but I have posted my question on several forums and didn't come to any solution.
I have HTC Sensationj XE, Gingerbread 2.3.4 Stock ROM, about 2 weeks old. I have this frustrating problem and that is when I recive calls about 50% of the calls I recieve the caller has to wait 5 seconds to hear me. On those other 50% the caller hears me right away.
I don't know what to do.

Thanks for help and sorry if posted in wrong section.

    Thumbs down

HTC need to release a patch as soon as possible!!! This phone was not cheap when I bought it... I've been browsing tons of forums and it seems that a majority of all HTC Incredible S owners are experiencing this issue.

COME ON NOW, WE WANT A FIX ASAP!

Well it appears as though this forum is not monitored by HTC at all, as I have not seen anything where any support or assistance has been offered.

If a solution is available elsewhere, then a pointer here would be useful for us all

This is frustration plus, and does not do anything to encourage me to stick with HTC when I am looking to upgrade to a new [android] smartphone

I'm still having this problem, echo in conversation after a few minutes using my HTC Incredible S.

    Any fix for this problem?
I'm otherwise considering returning the phone.
