O2 APN Settings Required - No Internet without WiFi
Hi All
Hope someone out there can help. I've been searching for hours to find a way of getting my HTC Legend to pick up the internet and use it's internet based widgets away from WiFi, as I am on a Pay as you go contract with O2, and I can't seem to setup the APN's correctly. - O2 do not support this phone, or even the hero, and when they tried sending me setup info, they must have sent the details to the wrong email address :O(
The phone loads up with the Vodafone screen (so has obviously come from them at some point), but works just fine with my O2 sim card, with the exception of the internet.
Anyone have the solution for this problem?
Thanks for helping

You could try the following settings:
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
username: payandgo
password: payandgo
DNS 1: 195.182.110.132
DNS 2: 62.134.11.4Garry Knight

I've managed to get the internet working now with HSPDA instead of Wifi, but now the WiFi has stopped working....
Now on the prowl to figure out how to get that working again.
I've tried resetting the wireless router, the phone, turning wifi, off/on on the phone, disconnecting and re-connecting the wireless network on the phone.
Any other ideas?
Here are the details from O2 (which finally came through on how to setup web on my phone... not saying what phone they were for, but i think it's the HTC Magic)
- Press the Back/Home key
- Tap Settings
- Tap Wireless controls
- Tap Mobile network settings
- Tap Access Point Names
- Press the Menu key
- Tap New
- Tap Name then tap the text box and enter O2 Pay & Go then press the Back/Home key
- Tap APN thentap the text box and enter payandgo.o2.co.uk then press the Back/Home key
- Tap Username then tap the text box and enter payandgo then press the Back/Home key
- Tap Password then tap the text box and enter password then press the Back/Home key
- Tap Authentication then tap Normal
- Skip past APN DNS 1 and APN DNS 2 as these are preset 0.0.0.0
- Tap Proxyand enter 193.113.200.195 then press the Back/Home key
- Tap Proxy portand enter 8080 then press the Back/Home key
- Skip past Proxy user name and Proxy password
- Tap Proxy type then tap HTTP
- Tap Save
- Tap O2 Pay & Go so a green dot appears next to it.
- Press the Back/Home key four times to return to the standby screen.
Hope this helps out other people too

Thanks Garry.
I've now got both working, after a bloody Factory Reset, that put my phone into German...
% I had to enter the below APN settings again, but that was much easier the second time round %
Managed to get it into English quick enough and even managed to save all my apps before the reset.
All in all, it's turned out pretty good.
Time to enjoy my new phone (Even if I really did want the HTC Desire HD, but can't justify the money for it)Last edited by Thompskinski; 10-23-2010 at 09:10 AM. Reason: RESOLVED

I found 02 contract htc desire settings worked for the legend, which can be found on one of the o2 sites! pay as you go just needs a slight change to these setting to work aswell.
But when i first got my htc legend o2 settings would not work for mms and internet what ever settings i tried, i even took it to a 02 shop and they could not get it working either, in the end i did a factory data reset on the legend after backing up the legend first. This then let 02 work on mms and internet. Just a note the htc 2.2 update that just arrived last week will remove o2 apn settings, so you need to re-do these.
These work for o2 pay and go on the legend
Name= o2wap
apn= payandgo.o2.co.uk
proxy=193.113.200.195
port=8080
username=payandgo
password=password
server= notset
mmsc= http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
mms proxy=103.113.200.195
mms port= 8080
rest of settings dont change
save and reboot
