Installation of HTC Sync
Hi -
Have installed HTC Sync on my laptop in order to sync, but it doesn't seem to connect with my HTC Magic when I connect the phone with the USB. When I press the HTC Sync notification on the phone, I get a message that says "The phone cannot detect HTC Sync at your PC. Please make sure that HTC Sync is installed and opened on your computer. You can either mount the SD card from your phone and then install HTC Sync or download it from http://www.htc.com/www/support.aspx. Note: for Windows only."
I don't understand this, cause HTC Sync is apparently installed on the computer so why doesn't the phone detect it?
Anyone know how I resolve this??
PS! For that matter, I'm not sure I understand why I need HTC Sync. The phone seem to sync up with my POP3 account and my Exchange account even without being connected to the PC, so what do I get in addition from connecting it and using HTC Sync???

Re: Installation of HTC Sync
I have the exact same issue and cannot find a fix righ now. I got the HTC Sync 204. HTC MAgic connects to PC - it says installed succesfully - USB Mass Storage.
In MyComputer I cannot see it, in HTC Sync nothing happens, there is no phone connected

Re: Installation of HTC Sync
Good to hear that I'm not the only one struggling with this...
...but unfortunate to hear that there seems to be no solution.
Anyone else have an explanation for this? I still haven't figured this out...
