Default CDC Serial, mass storage and Android drivers problem after last update

    Hi all

a few days ago i installed Androids latest update and ever since then when i connect my HTC one to any XP device i get the error message saying it can't find drivers for CDC serial, Android or mass storage

This is a nightmare for me and i can't seem to find a resolve. I have installed HTC sync but it will not pick my phone up

is there anyone who can help me at all? Very frustrated as an update is not meant to stop my phone being fit for purpose

I get the MTP enabled message on my phone as well

At least is there a way of rolling back

    anyone else had this issue

I have the same problem. On my Windows 7 laptop, windows managed to find the right drivers, however, on my Windows XP laptop, windows cannot locate any drivers. HTC Help could only talked me through a factory reset, then they advised to send the phone back !

Are there any Windows XP drivers for this nee upgrade?

Hi had same problem several times, have no idea why from time to time it comes up.
My solution isto download the newes Version of HTC sync Manager from HTC Support Website.
Saved it and as soon as the Problem Comes up, I quickly reinstall the software. No need to uninstall the old Installation.

    Hi all,

re - can't install CDC serial Driver on Windows XP based machine

I have the same problem with my XP machine, but not with WIN7.
HTC advised me to upgrade Windows Media Player to ver 11.

I had the same problem with my HTC One m8 dual sim.

After reading a ton of manuals and forums I finally figured the solution.

    1. First you have to download and install HTC Sync Manager located at their site here: HTC Sync Manager Overview | HTC United States

    2. If some drivers are failed to install you have to install them manually.

For example, I had my CDC Serial driver failed to install at Windows 7:
    Go to Device Manager,
    Find the device,
Do manual install from the HTC Sync Manager folder, located somewhere at C:\Program Files\HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\Win7_x86
If that does not work, select manual install, pick from the list, select all devices, install from the disk, select that folder again, and pick HTC Sync Manager Serial Interface.
