Attachments downloading problems (Solved)
My friend does have an HTC Touch T2223 (Viva), and he is having some trouble downloading messages in his Outlook.
He gets the full message, but no Attachment.
Did anyone have the same issue?Last edited by eliphaslevi; 02-11-2010 at 10:54 AM. Reason: the problem was solved

Patience patience. One cannot expect immediate reply since many forums are user based and no one is obliged to monitor disucssions 24/7. A respond will come when someone has the answer or willing to try troubleshoot the issue with you.
Open the email account's inbox. Does the email icon have a paper clip? Please do not send your questions or problems to me using Private Messages function. Post them in the appropriate board in the forum so everyone can read. If you "pm" me with an issue you are experiencing, I'll delete without reply.

I use a Touch HD and my emails show the attachments but I have it so that only attachments I tap on are actually downloaded.
Like Mesquire asks, Does the email indicate an attachment is present.
What sort of file types are the attachments is " your friend" trying to open?
Does he/she have an application installed which will allow the attachement ot be viewed? My current device is a HTC Touch HD

It was just the paper clip. He wasn't "seeing" it.
Can't see how he couldn't see it, because it's the same on Outlook...
Anyway, thanks for your help.

Does this happen with email with different senders or is this isolated to one or two or a few senders?
If it's from one or two senders, what email client are they using and in what format? (e.g., HTML, Plain Text)
I have only seen this problem on PCs. Email sent from different versions of Microsoft Outlook (on different computers naturally) to a few recipients on Outlook Express, Yahoo! Mail, Windows Mail experienced a similar issue. The attachment was there (from the size of email) but simply cannot access it.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a fix on the recipient's machines, but I have managed to avoid the issue by sending the same email from the sender's machines in Plain Text format instead of HTML.Please do not send your questions or problems to me using Private Messages function. Post them in the appropriate board in the forum so everyone can read. If you "pm" me with an issue you are experiencing, I'll delete without reply.

You can also change the settings for the email account to allow the program to download all attachments when downloading the email. Just set the account to download All Attachments, & any pics that are sent to the email account will show in the message. Any other files {Installers, Zip files, etc...} will still show the paper clip & need confirmation to download.

First of all you have to see if there are any attachments being sent or not by checking the paper clip; though you have to see because they are smaller. Then the application that is required to open the attachment is it present in your smart phone or not? I mean without having the required app how can you expect to open it up or having the application of same format. And also make sure if the size of the file is also not bigger.
