Thread: WAP issues

Hello all,

i'm using my htc s710 with wifi connection for a while now..
yesterday i had no AP around to connect to, so i subscribed to the WAP option from my provider..

at first it didnt work, after calling the support center they mentioned that HTC s710 isnt supported as a wap enabled phone...
i tried tweaking a bit, and at last i got it going by simply disabling "automaticaly detect settings" from the Internet explorer options...
now i could visit sites like facebook for example, but not yahoo nor google.. its not a connection issue, as it simply gives me a blank white page with the word "Submit" at the top left and thats it!
almost all search engines has the same output.. Live, google, yahoo...

i tried signing i with the built in windows messenger.. it says there isnt any connection.. even though i could visit msn.com

i tried checking if windows actualy knows its way to the WAP (considering it as it's default gateway)
by trying to automaticaly update windows (i thought that if the uptate check completed it means msn wont wrk due to a connection issue, and if not it might be something with my cell) and to my surprise..
windows update didnt work telling me i have no connection...

i tried installing fring, and picked my WAP as it's default connection.. it didnt work either!!! even though i downloaded fring using the wap connection directly to my cell!!
and i'm 100 % sure that fring can connect through wap since my bro has it on its nokia and we have the same provider..

could anyone help me out with this..!
