    Default Screen Problems

Hello Everybody!!! i need som help here!
The symptoms started off as just the screen going black. I would simply take out the battery and restart the phone. This is getting more and more frequent. Then I would get the message “no sim card inserted”, Also, when I take out the battery and restart the phone it is not always turning right on. The screen with just stay black or the phone will just start to vibrate. After about 5 to 8 tries it will work, but it is very frustrating.

Most likely, this would be a flex cable issue. It is quite common with flip & slide phones. The device uses a flexible cable that connects the PCBs in the device. As the cable flexes; it is stressed. Eventuslly the cable begins to break at the stress points. Replacing the flex is a fairly easy procedure. If you are unfamiliar with electronic repairs it is recommeded that you have a trained repairman do the work. Otherwise; flex cables can be purchased from eBay {& other sites}. One example can be seen here: http://cgi.ebay.com/LCD-SIM-FLEX-CABLE- ... 3a5585c8f4

It is possible that the drop caused some other problem. It's possible that the drop caused one of the connectors to loosen up. This would also give the results that you are experiencing. The best way to tell is to dismantle the device & inspect the flex cable. While taking apart, check each connector to see if any became loose. Once you've pulled ou the flex cable, inspect it for any breaks in the wires. Sometimes you will need to hold it in front of a light & see if the light penetrates in any areas that it shouldn't.
Use the HTC service manual when taking the device apart. Vox {S710} Service manual can be found here: http://www.mikechannon.net/PDF%20Manual ... Manual.pdf
