Thread: HTC S710 - error synchronising "outlook email", activesync

After a flash ROM operation and setting up all the settings again (I know the phone is now in its default state) there is a problem with full synchronisation (with a PC running activesync 4.5 - latest)

I don't use an exchange server etc just have my phone set for standard POP3 accounts (although this has nothing to do with "outlook email")

My PC runs activesync 4.5
I use Outlook 2003 SP3 - all patched and latest etc etc. and only set up for POP3 accounts - nothing special.

Active sync sees the S710 and synchronises.
After the 1st sync you can go into settings and adjust things, I set it to download the last weeks emails, use HTML, download all the email and all the attachments (no size limits etc), and sent items folder. (If I run out of memory then thats not an issue - I just dont get all the emails etc downloaded - this has not happened incidentally)

Active sync then re-synchronises and does its job.

I then disconnected the phone from the PC and looked at a typical email and at the bottom in a yellow screen is "get the rest of this message (xxKb)", pressing this and you then get the message "Message will download next time you connect etc"!!
Checked the settings on the phone and they are mirrored to the PC and vice versa.

Checked an email with an attachment and again it says "Attachments will download next time you connect etc!")

Can't be having this!!

Contacted HTC US (thanks SKYPE - its 24/7 toll free) and they do not have an answer. They say go back home and re-sync!!!!!!!
Not what I expect from a smartphone - may be an OS(phone) or MS activesync bug.
