Thread: HTC SALSA SPECS say 512Mb but Phone has 150 Mb only

Hi All,

I bought HTC Salsa few days back and my issue is as follows:-

Total internal memory according to Specs is 512 Mb, but phone shows total internal memory as 150Mb.

When i spoke to HTC customer care, they said that Android OS is using nearly 400MB of internal memory as lot of applications are pre installed.
I am not convinced by the answer and am escalating the issue. Any buddy else has the same prob please contact me or reply me on asreekumar1@gmail.com

I am also facing the same issue.Phone is showing internal memory as 150 MB however specs show that internal memory is 512 MB.
HTC is giving us such a bad customer experience.

And no one is replying on these issues see ......Shall we move to consumer court?

I'm having the same problem.. the same thing with my Chacha.. HTC should really address this issue and take action immediately to solve this..

The problem is the phone does have 512 mb memory, but then your software provider and HTC put on stuff they think you need, such as the Facebook app etc. I agree it is unfair and misleading especially as these things can not be moved to the memory card or deleted!!! I have one app not on the memory card, have 6 in phone app's waiting on updates, but can't as not enough space, Google maps for example. Clear the cache regularly, apps to SD is a good app for this, also shows app's you can move to SD. Also go into manage app's in phone settings and clear data regularly, for example even the calculator stores data and use's space on the phone. Do NOT delete data from anything that starts with HTC. I am typing this on my salsa but I have a new rhyme charging up, arrived today, 4Gb of onboard memory, not all will be free but as its 6 times what's on this it has To be better???. I am going to sell this one, at a huge loss but I have no choice

following on from below, just checked my brand new, 4gb on board memory rhyme, not loaded anything yet but only has. 0.96 gb left!!! At least more to work with than the 27mb I have left on the salsa!!! Going to personalize it put my one app that I can't put onto my sd card onto the phone and see what happens!!!

I too face the same problem of low internal space, I am really shocked by the misleading specifications published by HTC. When I had spoke to the CC of HTC they were telling that there is some software update to happen with Salsa after which the internal space is bound to increase, I have no faith in this company and feel that this is another eye wash. HTC= Highly Troubling Company
