    Default Network N router problems

I have just had a long and pointless conversation with a HTC Webchat staff member. In which she said that this phone wasn't compatible with N-routers. She couldn't tell me what N-routers were compatible. She said it was my router that was the problem. I said the Samsung Galaxy S2 worked fine with it. She still said it was a problem with the router. She said that I needed to change the channel on the router. I did that still didn't work. HTC advertise this as IEEE 802.11 N compatible. This is obviously not the case. I believe this to be a false advertising claim. If this needs an addendum then this should be clearly stated.

Something to note is that I can connect to my router via its wifi-G settings(it is a dual broadcasting router the Netgear WNDR3700). However this again points to the lack of ability to be compatible with wifi-N.

I look forward to anyones feedback. Hopefully I do not have to get onto the Advertising Standards Agency.

I do have the entire conversation in script if everyone is interested.

    Regards,

    Matt.

    Default solved

    Update:
I was called by HTC and was told that there shouldn't be any compatibility problems.(good support htc!) I tried it on my dad's network and got it working. My conclusions are as follows:
The card inside the HTC phone is a 150N and what this means is that it works using multiple G band signals and this means the router needs to be set to 2.4ghz and not the higher spec 5Ghz N band setting. There are two setting b,g,n which is 2.4 (this is the one needed) and a,n setting which is the 5ghz(which doesn't work).
Anyway I hope this helps someone else.
