I had the same problem with huge loss on battery performance, read some where that a factory reset will sort the problem, I am not in work untill next week then I will have a better idea wether the problem is fixed or not.
I hope so, I use my phone for music during a 10 hours shift, I used to be able to play music all night and still have a quarter battery left. Last night it was dead after 6 hours.......
The phone isnt rooted, I use a task killer to kill all unused apps and I have all data turned off at work, which is why I used to get good battery life!
Edit.....just a quick update, the battery problem has now gone away and battery life is as good if not a little better, for anyone having this problem a factory reset fixes it.Last edited by Paul_c; 05-11-2012 at 07:57 AM.

My problem is similar. Phone very slow to charge even on mains. If I'm using it plugged into the wall charger the indicated battery level continues to fall.
However...if I remove the battery and put it back in then the indicated battery level increases. It appears that the battery is charging fine but the phone/os is not acknowledging it right. I have tried factory reset to no avail. Anyone got further with this or similar issues?

Issue resolved (Finally)
Hi there,
thought I would post my results and hope that it might help others.
My issues started after I unlocked, S-off (ed) and loaded the excellent Viper custom rom for my Sensation XE. I had to use the junopbear wire trick, which although tricky was sucessful. The rom loaded beautifully and appeared to be working but I started having issues with the phone gettting VERY hot, having extreme battery drain 1-2% every couple of minutes (even whilst not being used) and very slow charging (even on AC).
I explored all sorts of options, I took the phone back to factory settings to rule out apps/services that may have been accessing data in the background. I tried different batteries and different chargers all didn't change things. I installed power monitoring apps to determine what was using the battery so quickly but all failed to provide an insight into a very frustrating situation.
During the course of my investigations I read that having the wrong radio (firmware) and associated drivers may be an issue. I decided to try reflashing the radio and drivers and as of today it appears my charging/battery drain issue has been resolved.
I used the latest radio from
[Firmware][July 23]User-Friendly Firmware 1.17/3.12/3.24/3.30/3.32/3.33 Universal - xda-developers
I downloaded the appropriate firmware package, installed it to the root of my sd card and rebooted into the bootloader, which saw the PG58IMG.zip file and asked me if I wanted to update it.
Following this simple process has left me with a fully functioning phone, that is able to be charged quickly and no longer discharges like crazy or gets hot.
I hope that helps someone. I feel a semblance of sanity returning now!!
