    Hi
there are two main ways to transfer music, when you connect your mobile to the pc, go to the notifications bar on you htc and change the usb connection type to 'disk drive' or 'htc sync'.

With htc sync the program htc sync should start up and you can choose to sync music from itunes or windows media player

If you chose disk drive you can manually copy and paste music onto the sd card.

    Hope this help

You can transfer Music from PC to HTC Sensation via USB or WiFi
    1. Connect your device to your computer.
    2. Pull down the Notification area and tap the USB tab. The default should say “Connected as media device.”
    3. Choose which method to Connect As. For most music and video transfer, choose Media device (MTP) – which lets you transfer media files on a PC or using Android File Transfer on a Mac.
    4. For transferring photos, choose Camera (PTP) –which lets you transfer photos using camera or built in photo software. This method also works on computers that don’t support MTP.

As far as I know, the usb cable is a basic way to help you transfer music between htc phone and pc.

I find MobileGo is a good option for data transfer. Here is a simple tutorial by using MobileGo to transfer files from htc to pc:

Step 1: Install the program on a pc or mac
Step 2: Connect HTC sensation to the computer via usb
Step 3: select the content for transfer, including music, contacts, sms, photos and media file
Step 4: Choose a local folder on your computer to store the exported files.

I have transferred the photos to pc from my phone, no transfer from pc to mobile device.
I found this backup assistant is very helpful for android users to transfer files between phones and pc.
