    Default Home button takes picture

Sometimes when I press the "home button" (the one with the little house on it), it takes a picture of whatever is on the screen and saves it in the gallery. What do I do?

I have this problem and HTC's response was that it's a hardware fault and I have to send the phone off to be repaired!!

Everyone has had the problem since upgrading to 2.3.4. HTC still insist it's not a software fault!! I'm sending my phone off after xmas so will fill you in on whether they resolve the problem.

hi guys, i just saw this thread and joind so i could comment, my sensation has been doing this for months, also the power button sticks or something because my home screen freezed up and wont turn on when i tap the power button.
i sent it off to carphone warehouse where i bought it and they sent it off for repair....
2 weeks later ive got my phone, they told be all they did was a system update (which is different to the ones we get online) and couldnt find any other faults.
had it less then 24 hours and my screen has takeen another 16 photos.

i called the store to complain and they have offered me a new sensation. i told them this seemed pointless as its clear to me its a global hardware fault because so many people are experiencing the same issues. still they insist a new like for like handset is all they can offer.

I give it 1 week and the second i find any bugs, im going in and demanding to cancel my contract with them.

There is an intentional function in the Sensation to take a picture of the current screen. If you press the on/off button then immediately press the home button it will take this picture. Make sure you are not touching the on/off switch when you press 'home'.

    Default Simple fix :)

I've been having the same issue and came across some advice on the net. Basically it's a problem with the power button not releasing or popping up completely. The phone is set up to take a screenshot by holding down the power button and pressing the home button at the same time.
If the power button is slightly out of position or not released all the way up yu end up taking a screenshot because the phone thinks the power button is being pressed. You could just open your phone case and try and clean any dirt or grime that could become lodged behind the power button. Did that and it worked for me

Hi IMTI, i tried that. Didn't work. My phone is def faulty. It's been back for repair to HTC. Had it back less than 24 hours before it started doing it again. It's now booked in to go back a second time. I am not impressed with HTC at all. I think their customer service is shocking. I should have been offered a new phone by now but instead they tell me that it's their policy to repair phones 3 times??????? Personally i think if it doesn't fix the first time then there is something seriously amiss. All this time i'm forking out for a contract i can't use!
Anyway, rant over. Don't think i'll be buying HTC in the future somehow!

Just an update for other peoples info. My phone has now been back twice for repair. It is still faulty. HTC clearly haven't got a clue what this fault is. Their customer service has been shocking. Not impressed at all. Although their policy states that a phone has to be returned three times for repair, they have agreed to replace mine after two times as they have agreed that there is nothing else they could possibly be done to it. I have had to fight for this though. And i am still without a phone whilst they wait to recieve mine before they send me a new one out. I love my HTC Sensation but i will never buy another HTC phone because of their crap customer service. It's the old case of we got your money, we don't give a s***.
