Problems with HTC Sensation XE
Hi everybody...
I am having quite a few problems with the HTC Sensation XE, and I have to say on first impressions I am really dissapointed, especially since I sold my iPhone 4, to buy this....
These are my problems/questions:
1) Is it just a common phone fault that despite this being a specific Beats Audio device the sound quality is shockingly bad. Okay so yes I do not have the proper beats audio headphones but when playing music through the phone, the sound is AWFUL and yet so quiet! I can also barely hear people when they talk in a call. (Yes all volumes turned up to max)
2)I use an app called Viber to make free phone calls and texts because I have friends in Ireland that it would normally cost me alot to call/text, however on this phone Viber loads up then instantly crashes.
3)When I go into settings, then applications, and click ''running'', it crashes and I get an error of, ''settings has encountered an unexpected error and will now close'' (or its something along those lines), and it instantly will close, have tried turning phone off etc etc, but it does it everytime.
4) I am finding as a general rule a few apps are crashing for no reason, I tried downloading Nimbuzz which is the same as Viber, and that too crashes upon trying to register.
5) How do I get to my sim contacts? Phone is so confusing, I have contacts saved to sim and cannot for the life of me find out how to access them!
6) Every now and then it closes itself down and restarts without any warning, I have only had the phone a day and this has happened 3 times.
7) Where do I find the software so I can rollback to previous operating systems as this phone was just updated and I think thats why Viber etc isn't working, but I downloaded HTC Sync and there is no option for phone software/updates on there
I purchased this phone from a friend and he had just finished updating it to the latest software when I arrived at his house, so yes it is on the latest software, but I just seem to be having problems with it all. I like the phone itself and the layout, its just the android operating system that seems to suck, and yet I was given so much hope and rubbish about how amazing it is.
Please help beacuse its really doing my head in!

Hi Zoey, I think your problems stem from Viber and the newest updates. Uninstall Viper and Nimbuzz and go back to Factory reset. Reinstall Viper, making sure that it is the android version, and make sure that you have a Data Plan with your supplier.

sensation xe
HI I have the same phone and it works well I have viber installed and it works well I have an iphone and sound wise the beats phone blows it away as did my desire before it try using sennheiser MM50 awesome headphones come in black & white cheaper than beats and less bright so works well with the beats enhancements as the are on the bright side.
Try a factory reset and unless you have a faulty unit I promise you that phone is faster sounds better and has twice features the iphone 4s has and google seach works better than siri....well at least google understands what i am saying.
I like Viber the message service works fantastically
it may suprise you to learn that one of guys who started Apple perfers the Andriod operating system to (ios Apple) you need to give it a chance it will reward you
One last thing if you cannot get use to the Htc Music interface try power Amp or GoogleMusic player
factory reset
First, try this: 1. From the main home screen, tap menu 2. Tap Settings, then Privacy 3. Tap Factory data reset 4. Tap Reset phone 5. Enter your password if required, then tap Erase everything to confirm If that doesn't work, or if your phone is frozen: 1. Turn the power off. If your HTC Sensation 4G is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it 2. Hold the Volume Down button 3. Press and hold the Power button until the device turns on 4. You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock 5. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button 6. Press and release the Power button 7. Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO

To get your contacts from your sim you have to import the contacts from the "People" app that HTC pre-installs.
From the Home screen, tap applications, then People. Press the menu button at the bottom of the phone (it looks like a series of lines stacked on each other) and then tap Import/Export > Import from SIM card. If you have Google accounts set up on HTC Sensation, tap the type for the imported contacts. Do one of the following: Tap one or more SIM contacts you want to import. To import all contacts, press , and then tap Select all. Tap Save. Simples!
