Problems with the forum upgrade

Thanks guys, I have to rebuild the search index with all the imported posts and that should fix the search. How did the few of you get an avatar to upload if it's not working? I'll take look at the other problems

@ ednap: You must change your notification settings. Go into your control panel {"Settings" @ top of page} & click "Forum Settings". Scroll down to the heading "Default Thread Subscription Mode" & select "Instant, Using email" in the dropbox. The default setting ony sends the notification to your control panel.

@ Sevsev: I was able to post my avatar with no problems. I was also able to post Mesquire's avatar thru the ModCP. {I thought his posts looked a lil' naked without her } I believe that mod status gives me access to settings that may be blocked for other users.

Fixed the avatars, permissions not set right for the general registered users group

Search index should be built and working also

Saw a warning on the top of every forum page to remind me to re-create account. Not sure if there is any issue. Just post here as a test. Sorry and please ignore.

Ok I switched the messages around, now non-logged in users will get different messages then logged in users. Less confusion.

Just found another probem. Private messages are not migrated or not correctly migrated.

I get the same message in Inbox as in Sent Items - it was a reply to someone's private message and now the original is gone and this copy in Sent Items is telling me I sent it to myself???

I noticed this in mine too, I'm not sure what the cause is of this

Just tested the search. Had no problems this time. How would I do an unanswered posts search, or is that no longer an option {It was the fastest way to find the spammers}?

my problem is the login in, unless i select remember me it will not let me sign in. i have to make several attempts before it goes threw, over all the new look is nice but why all these problems. wasnt the site tested before it was finally placed and i still dont understand why the password had to be reset. as important as this site is you shouldnt rush to put it on without getting the kinks out, its very fustrating

Did you try the what's new at the top? Not quite the same but it shows the newest threads with activity

I haven't experienced or heard of the issue with the login at all, and it's odd that it works with remember me checked only. I will look into it still.

Passwords can't be moved over because they are secure, the conversion software just doesn't allow it.

As for the kinks, all the huge ones were worked out in testing. The conversion isn't perfect, which is why this thread is here so as users use certain functions any bugs can be discovered. But this new forum software will allow for a lot more plugins and modifications which will be implemented with time.

I noticed this in mine too, I'm not sure what the cause is of this

but did you get all your old private messages? I didn't - got only one imported

Found 2 other issues:

1. If a post created before migration contains a url to another in the HTC Forums, after migration the url will fail as it has not been redirected.

2. I get an error message if I try to create a post with more than 4 images (e.g., illustrated steps to perform a task) saying the limit is 4.
