Thread: Disable sound in Tattoo startup screen?

Hello.
I am tired of listening to the annoying sounds, when
my Tattoo starts up.
Anobody who know how to disable it?

I find the Android startup sound like a harsh shrill and very unsubtle if you are switching on your phone.

There might be a way. The problem is that i can't save the file. It might be that i haven't rooted my device.
Download ASTRO file manager, go to /system/media/bootscreen and open boot_animaiton
there are 3 places where the useAudio is set to 1. If that i changed to 0, you might get lucky.

I haven't tried this though. I have no idea of the outcome. Try it on your own risk!

I have the same issue.

The startup sound is very annoying especially if you are in some quiet places like library and the phone just restarts suddenly without reasons...

Think HTC should look into these issues....

Has anyone found out how to do this yet? The combination of random restarts and then a really loud noise is not good if you are in a meeting, library, cinema etc..

Any update on this??, really not cool when my phone (Tattoo) randomly reboots and the whole office is looking at me like, can't you just switch that sound off :-/

The same problem. the sound is irritating and wakes the house up when i switch on the phone. who knows how to switch it off? bought a week ago, start to hate it already only because of this sound

So I'm not the only one suffering random reboots. Why does the Tattoo do this? Now and again mine does a factory reset of its own accord. Are they really that unstable??
