Thread: HTC Sync Problems with Tattoo

Currently running latest version of Sync... but the phone will NOT sync.
Tried to sort it for 2 days now. Followed a few links on similar problems but to no avail.
Running under WinXP SP3
On the Tattoo it shows that the phone is connected. Sync says the phone is connected... but neither Synchronize Now or Synchronize manager do anything. The Sync Now button on the Tattoo when pushed goes away to do something but nada.. nuttin...

Any pointers or help would be greatly appreciated.

This is the second HTC based mobile I've had.. I had problems with the first one (Branded SPV M400).
I've always liked the phones but hated the software.... maybe I should have warned myself not to expect too much this time.

I'm only a noob with the Tattoo myself, but have you got the PC connection mode set correctly? What you have described sounds like what happens when you try to sync the phone when the phone is set to operate like a disk drive on the computer.

Go to Home -> All Programs -> Settings -> Connect to PC, and be sure the "Ask Me" option is checked.

Then, when you plug the phone into your PC, you should get a pop up on the phone screen that asks what mode you want to connect in. Select sync mode, and then the sync program should start to work...

If you instaled Sync from SD card uninstall it then go to official HTC site and download 2.00.33 version and install it then connect your phone to USB. It works for me on winxp sp3.

To answer both, I installed HTC Sync from Disk and upgraded to the new version available from the HTC site.

I have tried it in ask me mode and it just sits there.

I'm going to try the ROM upgrade tonight and see what happens.
Hopefuly it will close the issues.
