Thread: USB connection: "Do nothing" option?

Hi all,

Whenever I connect my Tattoo to a USB port, it asks if I want to to File Transfer, Sync or Share Internet Connection.

I want to do none of these things - usually I just want to charge the phone! Is there a way to allow the Tattoo connect silently to a machine by default without insisting on one of the above (and then throwing an error...)

good point, is annoying. I select file transfer and then kill that popup on the desktop

I've settled on "Share Internet Connection". I have mobile dialup disabled, so that (more or less) works for me.
Hitting the "back" button also works (if I remember).

Just a minor annoyance - hopefully they'll add a "Do nothing" option in the future...

Another alternative is to purchase a charge only USB cable.

Doesn't have as many conductors inside so only supplies power to your unit and cannot do anything else. They are a few bucks off eBay.

Cool, great idea! I need another cable anyway...
