Thread: Computer will not recognize new thunderbolt

My computer with windows 7 professional will not recognize my phone when I connect it via the cable to the USB port. It does charge. I've called htc, and we tried lots of phone settings, new sync software on the windows machine, but still nothing. There is a sound on the computer when the phone is connected, and the error bubble comes up, so the computer and phone are talking a little at least, but it cannot see the drive. Htc says it must be the computer, but there is nothing unique about the computer or its settings, and I've done enough research to at least know this has been a problem for more than a few people. Any ideas what to try next?
