It's been pretty recent that they've unlocked GPS for the titan. Everything you need can be found here http://www.phonenews.com/how-to-add-gps ... itan-2663/
Installing this update will enable GPS to function inside your HTC Titan. It enables the gpsOne chipset in your device to function as a standard GPS device, compatible with Windows Mobile 5 & 6 GPS applications, including Google Maps, Windows Live for Mobile, and navigation software such as TomTom Navigator. Keep in mind that gpsOne is not autonomous GPS, you will need to have home network coverage in order to maintain a GPS lock.
Also, keep in mind that this software is not supported by HTC. it is expected that carriers will be releasing this functionality in a future update. If you are not comfortable with this process, do not proceed. To maintain your warranty, you will need to remove this software (by restoring your device) before sending the device in for warranty service.

Thanks for visiting HTC Forums
Thankyou very much for the information. Has anyone tried to install this on the verizon xv6800? how do you unistall it if you need to bring in for maintenance? how is it working?
if you install this upgrade do you lose the info in your phone? do you need to reactivate your phone?
If you are worried about voiding warranty or maintenance then this probably isn't for you.
The networks are supposed to release GPS functions with their own updates but they just haven't yet

does anyone know if you could use the htc upgrade for the mogul on the verizon xv6800.
My Mogul has a better GPS more advance than Google maps. Mine is just like what you see in the new cars GPS. Also great about Mogul is using it built in GPS Receiver has now I do not have to use bluetooth anymore. Using Mogul has GPS has been excellent and working great. It evens located the Satellite really Fast. Also great is I am not using sprint GPS has I am not paying no monthly service using sprint GPS.
If you want a real GPS check this out. http://youtube.com/watch?v=PDXXYuJSWM4

I'm not entirely sure that this topic has made it over to this forum yet, but I figured it's very important I post it and I don't have time to wonder thru this forum to see if anyone else has mentioned it...This deserves to be bumped anyways....
IF YOU HAVE VERIZON'S LATEST OFFICIAL WINDOWS MOBILE 6.1 RELEASE (available thru free download on the manufacturers website) YOU CAN NOW ENABLE / ADD GPS TO VERIZON'S LATEST OFFICIAL XV6800 STOCK ROM (and cooked rom's needing mod's work too)!!! [VZW Rom v3.57.605.1] - THIS IS VERY EASILY APPLIED!!!
Follow this link to get the instructions and ONE cab file needed to unlock your aGPS on your stock or custom ROM!

This kicks so much ass....especially since I myself didn't want to mess with cooked ROM's... I knew that once verizon made their own VZW software run on the phone and disable the GPS for all other apps, that someone would come along and "fix" verizons pathetic software lock-down. I'm so happy. THIS IS ALL THANKS TO gc14 OVER AT XDA-DEVELOPERS!!! W00t! He's so damn l33t! - Take care all - Wolfman
:clapping: :2thumbs: :silly:
OK... I followed the steps. got the new MR1 from Verizon installed the cab file.
Now when I go to google maps and say my location I get a pop up that says my device is not compatiable for my locations. When I try to turn on GPS now it just says no GPS found. What have I done wrong!
PLEASE HELP!
...and forget it! All I had to do was go in and configure google maps to work.
Now this works great. Picked up 9 satelites in my house within 30 seconds! WOOOHOOOOO
