Default Change locale from UK to US -> still some leftovers?

So, I live in the US and just got HTC TITAN, and after changing the locale/etc to US from UK, there are still some leftover british-english bits that my AT&T-bought Surround doesn't have. It's not a major issue, but it is somewhat awkward seeing "synchronising" instead of "syncing", "favourites", etc all over the place. There doesn't seem to be a place to change this. Any ideas?

I'm having this issue as well. If anyone has advice, I'd appreciate it. Not that crucial, but a tad annoying.
