Default Newbie question about auto connecting

    Hi all.

I have recently received the HTC Touch 3G on contract via the Orange network.
I'm quite happy with it, apart from 2 small issues, one of which may be nothing at all, hence my question. 1) my main query is to do with connection. Sometimes I have tapped the small G or H symbol next to the signal indicator, and found that when I check my system status, it says something like Connectivity, connected for 1:45:23 which I assume is the total connected time. Is this costing me anything and if so, how do I control it? 2) I'm happy enough with the keyboard that I'm using but I did try to change to full qwerty in the options menu, but it didn't save the setting and just went back to what it was. I clicked the OK button, should I have done something else? Any help appreciated, and hello!

    1) It depends on your operator's plan. If you are charged by the minute, yes, others are charged by data transferred, in which case, it will only cost you $$ if during that one hour and 45 mins (the session's connected duration) your device has downloaded/uploaded data.

To disconnect quickly, press the END CALL key for about 3 seconds.

To manage your phone's mobile connection, install a software called MoDaCo NoData or lock it manually:

    2) I don't have a Touch 3G at hand so I'll need to check to which keyboard you are referring when I see my colleague with the Touch 3G next. In the meantime, have you tried a reboot?
