Thread: I have lost my text alert sound

I have lost my text alert sound on my Touch 3G, even though when i go into settings - sounds and notifications-Event -messaging: new text message, the "play sound" box is ticked and if i press "play" the sound works okay? I have had the phone for just over a year and it did this before and after a hard reset it came back but i dont want to do a hard reset again if i can help it. Anybody any clues?? Cheers :roll:

This happened to me today and I have just figured it out. Goto start-programs-audio manager. When the audio manager comes up use the side buttons on the phone to turn the volume up. Then your message sound will work.
