Thread: Ghost Alarm?

I have a Verizon XV6900.

I set and use the three alarms available pretty much everyday. For the second time since I've owned this phone, I now have a ghost alarm, where a previously set alarm continues to go off everyday as a reminder, despite that alarm no longer being active. I suspect this happened when I tried to set my alarm one evening, but every time I tried to go to the alarm screen, the screen would not fully load and so I would X out of the screen. I tried this several times before finally doing a Soft Restart on the phone. Ever since, I have the ghost alarm...

For example, I used to set one alarm to 6:05 am and another for 6:15 am. I have since modified these times, and have even turned off all the alarms, but every morning, the alarm reminder goes off at 6:05 and 6:15 am. I have selected Dismiss All Alarms, to no avail.

The first time this happened, I did a master reset on the phone, which basically made it lose its mind and Verizon warrantied it. This time, Verizon's good idea was to update it via the *228. I don't have confidence this will do squat, but unfortunately, the only way to find out is to wait for 6:05 tomorrow morning...

I have to believe there is some internal programming glitch, or someway to access and clear these alarms out. Anyone have any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?

I have the same experience with my Hero, my ghost alarm goes of at 06.00. And it's really frustrating to wait for next early morning to see if it's still there. If I toggle one of the alarms off-on-off, the clock symbol in the notification area disappears. But after a while it reappears.

OK, I found the problem and solution, it was simply another alarm program that was installed and forgotten...In this program I found my 06:00 alarm enabled and all.
