Thread: Phone starts up with sound but display shows only a vertical Line

The phone was working fine and it was awesome. Then it froze. So i reset it and all that came up was a single bright vertical line about half an inch wide which extends from the top center of the screen to the bottom. At half way the light of the line dims a little bit, just enough to notice that the entire line is made up of two shades.

Can anyone tell me whats up with the fone? i've tried hard reset and everything. also whats the difference between a new screen and digitizer? Or are they the same. thanks
