Custom alarm sounds
It has to be a WAV file (mp3 won't show up in list)
Put the wav in the windows folder
It will now be in the drop down for choosing alarm sounds 8-)Andrew

Re: Custom alarm sounds
Hey all-
First time poster. On the subject of alarm sounds... Is there a limit as to the size of the file that can be recognized?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Custom alarm sounds
There shouldn't be. I remember 3 years ago when I had my iMate JAM, I converted a 4 minute mp3 to a wav file. it was about 3MB in size and it worked fine.

Hey vc66, are you having some issues? or just curious? Up to this point I've only used files up to 1mb at most

Re: Custom alarm sounds
Yea. I converted a song from .mp3 to .wav, and it made it about 45 MB. The phone listed the file with the other .wav sounds, but when I try to click on it to choose it, it goes to the default alarm sound.

Re: Custom alarm sounds
Hi
After some testing I found the following 'system requirements' for a WAV-file you want to set as custom alarm (by putting in the Windows folder):
1. WAV-format (of course)
2. Created without compression (this means with filter/codec PCM, not mp3 (MPEG-layer 3) or alike), any Hz and/or bit rate, mono or stereo
3. There seems te be no limit in length of time of the sound
4. Filesize limit of approximately 5 mb.
Hope this helps others as it did for me.
Wannes
