There are so many great wired headsets available which cannot be connected to the P3650 because of the choice of using the mini USB connection also for headsets. Is there an adapter available. I really would appreciate a lead in this.

A simple little miniusb (with a thru mini usb to power the device as well) AND 3.5 jack would be ideal. Anyone know of one?
The jack is sold in HTC Egypt ,so yes it must be available
Actually they have two types... One that's a bit long with one end mini usb and the other 3.5, and another type with one end mini usb and the other a multi function small box with 3.5, 2.x and another usb to charge while listening to music
I obtained an excellent product from Hong Kong (shipped in 4 days) - they ship 2 because they are so cheap.

this sounds crazy but i charge my p3650 with a motorla charger SO if you look hard you can find a motorla headsets and some kind of this headsets are made of two part one is a converting + mic and the other is a normal 3.5 mm headphones and you can put your own headphone in that jack . you can find this headsets in a cheap local shop which sales products from china
The reason why you can charge with a charger from a different phone or brand is because USB charging is a near universal standard. Many chargers w/ a USB port as output jack distributes 1A at 5V. A minority will distribute at lower amps, such as, 500mA or 750mA. Jabra chargers output at 180-200mA. I charge all phones and headsets of different brands using the same charger - it has a detachable cable so all I have to do is swap the appropriate cable! The device will draw the necessary ampere it needs from the charger.
And then there is the USB port. Older Dopod/HTC phones like your P3650 adopts a version of mini USB port so you can use any mini USB type B cable to charge your device or connect it to the computer. Newer HTC phones (from HD2 onwards) will adopt the micro USB port as part of the OMTP initiative to a universal standard to phone connectors - hence the readoption of a separate audio jack for headphones.
The reason why the HTC phone has a USB port of different shape (called ExtUSB) than normal mini USB port (since Dopod D810/HTC P3600, aka Trinity) is because of the audio connectors on the other side of the port. For details, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Univers...rs_and_formats
