Re: First impression
Cons:
1. it’s getting hot when it’s charging and very hot when using navigation with car charger.
2. when i receive a sms from work number, the reply goes to mobile number. quite annoying but only from htc interface.
3. sometimes video recording not working -just a black screen is showing, restart is need it to work properly.

Re: First impression
If it had a flash it would be perfect :-) And if some clever sod works out how to do optical zoom but still keep it thin, then it would be super perfect - actually, I think they are working on that!
Cheers, Rob.

Re: First impression
Perhaps Ive not learnt how to use it correctly, but I regret getting it. I find it a very frustrating phone. Come back my Nokia.

Maybe that's because it's not a phone :-)
Cheers, Rob.

Re: First impression
Must stop talking to it when it rings.
Problems I have with my not a phone.
I cant find a setting to let me know when a text come in, other than the flashing light.
Sometimes it takes 5 secs for a pressed button to work.
Has no voice recognition when Im driving, touch screen has very small area for touching when driving, and as it constantly navigates somewhere other than I want it when using my ingers the back button take you all the way back to "A" instead of back to where it was last, so making it longer to navigate.
Battery life is too short, I have to carry around chargers.
No choiice on syncing different outlook folders, ie if I have more than one calander or contacts list.
Recieption constantly drops and if held next to my old Nokia always has fewer bars.
General lack of features.
Crashes but dont they all seem to these days.Regards

Re: First impression
Today took it off its desk top charger and its removed all the contacts.
Clock is fine one minute then its 2 hours behind, bastard when you set your alarm and goes off 2 hours late in morning.
Have no idea if these rae the phone or window problems, but does not enarmour me to the phone that Im stuck with on an 18 month contract.Regards

Re: First impression
Well, Ive been really unlucky with mine.
Put Sat Nav in it but sometimes it take 15 mins to find a saterlite, and on occassions shows were I was last and wont update to make a new navigation.
It stopped sending text so took back and they re set it, worked for 2 days then stopped again.
So it gets sent off the HTC who have it for 3-4 weeks. Comes back and 1 month later its has stopped sending Text again.
Worse phone Ive every had, I had really looked forward to using a windows based phone but even with the 6.5 upgrade its still lacking what my Blackberry does and IPhone.
Going to take it back again for another repair and see what the phone shop say. Not sure Id go HTC again.Regards

Re: First impression
For that satellite, do you use quickgps? That makes a huge difference.
When you think that your iphone is better than a WM based device, you're definitely doing something wrong. Okay, the gps works better on an iPhone, but what about applications (i hate tomtom, but there's no other option for iPhones, i hate the agenda and the way it gets synced on an iPhone, i hate to delete every single message one by one on an iPhone, i hate the way apple keeps my phone hostage, i hate everything about an iPhone. That's why i gave it to somebody i actually hated.
Anyway, i don't want to start a discussion about Apple vs WM here, because i will win anyway
Point is, that these problems are 99% software related. It is just a matter of finding the best rom (6.5 is not always better than 6.1, especially when getting to performance) for your Topaz. Whatever you're missing from 6.5, like the fancy HTC Home screen, you can get as well on a 6.1 rom. Just keep looking for awesome .cab's, and find out HTC's are definitely the better smart-phones around.
