Thread: Some Problems with the diamond 2!

Hi Ladys and Gents ,

I am pretty new to the HTC cell phones and I got my Diamond2 yesterday.
I live in germany and the only service which cells it is Vodafon, so my cellular is branded. It also got all those Crappy apps of vodafon on it which are more or less useless.

My first problem is: I have Opera and IE 6.0 on it. In Opera i can turn the cellphone and have the website in a wide format, which is cool. But some websites are not opened on Opera, which is seriously anerving, only the "MOBILE VERSION" is avelabel. On IE i can open every website BUT I cannot swap the cellfone and have the website on a wide screen format.
So thats really anerving me ! I love Opera but it doesnt open the websites properly and does not show pictues and so on!
For example when i go onto "Spiegel.de" it just shows some buttons, but nothing else... Not even the news or something !

Second problem: I have tryed to update windows mobile, but it tells me it could not connect to the service and and I should ensure that date and time are set correctly...
Any solution for that?

Third Problem: The vodafon branding APPS! I have vodafon stuff on my cellphone, for example when i start the phone I see a vodafon screen first and than it shows me the windows mobile screen. This slows down the cell phone and also the useless programms from vodafon takes mad space.
Is there a way of formating and installing windows mobile again?

I am really happy with the phone and it has great extras but these few things make me crazy, I would really be happy if you could help me!

Sorry, no solutions, just more problems!!!!

Ive had the TD2 for about a month now and the level of frustration with it is incredible.

Active Sync. Can anybody get this to work ? Thats not quite fair it does work when it wants to, had a Nokia N95 prior to this and no problems with any connections plug this in to PC it says it is conected but fails to transfer data.

Alarm. This again works when it wants to late for a meeting last week because alarm didnt got off and is generally unreliable.

Text Messages. HTC are on to this one and have put a HOTFIX on their site to make the phone sound an alert when in standby mode, thanks guys......................One problem can you put up a hotfix that actually works, downloaded this three times now, always stored to phone rather than card but still doesnt work consistently,

These are real disapointments, love the phone look, love the interface. not a lot of good if the apps dont work.
