Thread: Pin code - Diamond 2 says it's incorrect

Hi, everyone!

Today I got a HTC Touch Diamond 2. I bought it used, since it's a Christmas gift for my boyfriend and buying a new one would be too expensive. To test it, I put my sim card in it – but when I dialed my pin code the phone told me it was incorrect. I know it's correct, it works just fine on my Sony Ericsson. The phone is not locked to any spesific operator.

Does anyone know why the phone acts like this? I think it might be too smart for me.. *sigh*

Okay, it's not the pin code. It's some kind of code you have to type to get to use the phone when it is a while since it's been used. I bought this phone from a private person, who have given me all the codes he can think of, but none of them match. And, sometimes the "unlock-button" does not even work (it's like that most of the time now).

My guess is that you are looking at the Lock function which is not enabled by default on Windows Mobile, normally.

Do a hard reset. That should solve it.

Volume up & down (keep pressed) + power on (short press), let loose when you see the format notification in screen, press volume up to confirm.

My boyfriend made the phone work after trying for half an hour. A hard reset worked after a while, and the phone is now up and going. Thanks for the help - and a very merry Christmas!
