Re: I really need help!
First off: you did not buy an HTC Diamond2. You bought a clone. HTC is a Taiwanese company, not Chinese. If you go to PDADB.net, you can look up the specs for the HTC Diam2. From what I understand, the chinese rip-off does not have 3G capability, & it does not have the same processor or memory stats. With a true HTC Diam2, the TF3D system is installed during the Customization process that loads immediately after you finish the startup calibration pages. If you bypass this Customization phase, then the TF3D files are not installed. Since this is not an authentic HTC device, you may have to download & install a standalone version of TF3D.

Ever owned a Dopod?
HTC is marketed in China under the brand name Dopod, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the former and was used to market HTC's phone up to around Dopod D810 (aka Trinity, HTC P3600) and Dopod TyTN II in certain countries, mostly Asia, until a few years ago, when HTC bought all assets from Dopod (clearly except China) and started marketing under its own name - first device released under the HTC brand being the HTC Touch.
In other words, your HTC Diamond2 is sold as a Dopod Diamond2/T5388. The brand "HTC" is not marketed worldwide, so not all products without the HTC brand are a rip-off.

But if you really want to see a clone or rip-off: http://www.ziss.hk/Please do not send your questions or problems to me using Private Messages function. Post them in the appropriate board in the forum so everyone can read. If you "pm" me with an issue you are experiencing, I'll delete without reply.

Re: I really need help!
No Mesquire; I have never owned a Dopod, but I am quite familiar with them. As you mentioned, they were purchased by HTC & remain in effect as a subsidiary company. The key feature of the Dopods is that, as a subsidiary, the hardware is identical to the HTC branded devices. If there is a difference in the hardware, it is a small difference {Never major}. For example: the HTC version of the Blackstone is 3G whereas the Dopod version is not. But there are no differences in the specs listed on the page you listed & the "HTC" specs. There are many different Rip-offs out there. The link you provided shows a device that is easily identified as a rip-off. There are many rip-off devices floating around eBay that include the HTC logo on the device. But, if you read the specs listed, you see that there are some major differences from the original HTC device. Check out:
This one only has 128MB ROM & 256MB RAM. The screen is only QVGA. The camera is only 3MP. Plus it's not even 3G! Yet it has an HTC logo. http://cgi.ebay.com/3-2-WM6-1-GPS-WIFI- ... 27ad26b018
This one only has a 2MP camera & doesn't even list the memory specs. : http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Smart-Phone-HTC ... 2303f6a6f8
It is possible that ppoopha bought a Dopod. I apologize if I caused a confusion. I just know that many people have bought HTC ripp-offs because they saw the price on eBay. If they would take a minute to look at the specsm, they will see that it is clearly not an HTC product.I'm Lost; I've Gone To Find Myself. If I Return Before I Get Back; Please Ask Me To Wait.

Re: I really need help!
For the record, HTC bought Dopod's assets, not the company.
There was a good reason for many of the Dopod's equivalent of HTC phones to be 2G devices in China - the country did not issue its first 3G licence to mobile operators until this year, so they are playing catch-up, so one cannot just compare products (or anything) at face value without knowing the underlying rationale. My Dopod D810 (a 3G/HSDPA phone) was identical to HTC P3600/Trinity sold elsewhere, e.g., Europe, but by the time Blackstone was released, there was no Dopod brand in Asia except in China, and many consumers had to re-familiarize themselves with HTC instead of Dopod during brand transition, but I think the release of HTC Touch ahead of the Apple iPhone really helped to solidify the HTC name.
PS. I wouldn't take the specs provided on eBay too seriously. After all, information represented by a seller can be wrong or omitted - some people still can't tell a QVGA from a WVGA screen. It's also not 100% wrong to present the phone as a quad-band GSM phone - strictly speaking it is a GSM phone, even HTC says so.
Anyway, let's wait and see if ppoopha comes back with a reply and see if he had a Dopod, or not. Please do not send your questions or problems to me using Private Messages function.
