Thread: Owner name

Hi all and Merry Christmass!
I just got my new HTC Topaz and try to find my way through it...
So my question, where you can define an owner's name in the device?

Try: Start > Settings > All Settings

I tried Start-Settings-All Settingd but couldn't find this specific field...

go to setting>all setting>about>device id...there it will ask you device name and description and from there you decide...

Ops my bad...settings>all settings>systems>about>device ID>...sorry for the confusion guy

@to_2Short: The location you are listing is for the devices name, not the owner name.

You can set the owner name by:
For WM6.5} Start> Settings> Personal> Owner Information.
For WM6.1} Start> Settings> Owner Information. {When you enter the Settings screen you will be on the "Personal" tab}

My Device runs WM 6.5 but in the meny Start-Settings-Personal, there are only three options, none of them is Owner information...

If the Control panel is not there you can set it by editing the registry, but this is quite involved. I can make it a lot easier for you if you PM me with the owner info that you want entered. I can set the info on my device, then export the Reg data, & make a .cab installer from it. You can then just copy the .cab file to your device, run it, & voila your owner info will be set. When you PM, be sure to include an email addy that I can send the .cab file to.

If you want to try altering the Registry, let me know & I will try to write up the cypher you'll need to do it.

Hello everybody! I found the way to set the owner's name in WM 6.5. Here is how:
1) Go to Start/Settings/Today (Note: If you are using Touch Flo, go to Settings tab/All Settings/Settings/Today)
2) From Today setup, select the tab Items
3) Uncheck HTC SENSE and WINDOWS DEFAULT. Check OWNER INFO. Proceed to save settings (OK)
4) Once your new setting takes effect you will have a "standard" Windows Today screen. Tap Owner Info and it will open the setup screen. Type your name and other data you wish. Save (OK)
