Thread: deleting emails

i am using a htc touch diamond 2, running windows mobile 6.5

on the touchflo 3d toolbar, the email icon constantly has a green ball with a number 1 on it, as if i have a new email message, but i have deleted all my messages and it is still there. when i get a message, the number changes to a 2.

how can i "erase" this phantom message??
