Thread: Play sound when New Text Message received (HTC Touch GSM)

I was bought Htc Touch GSM mobile from month ago and i want know, Why there is no notification sound play when the new text message is received while the backlight is turn off like the ringing for incoming call play when backlight is turned off, i am sure i had been choosed play sound when a new text message is received but it doesn't play any sound. please explain me how can i solve this problem. Thank you for your time.

wot I understood, you are not getting notified during sleep mode.

Were you getting the new Msg Notification earlier ? or it's happening after you select different tone for msg notify ?

Try to change it Start -> Settings -> Sounds & Notifications -> Notifications
Select Messaging: New Text Message
If you are able to hear your New Message Sound in this window and not listening during sleep mode only then Registry value might be currupted for sound & notification during sleep mode.

i was already done that and i heard the sound but when new text message is received there is no sound & notification during sleep mode. and even i was on wakeup mood just there is no sound play just notification for report for delivered message but no heard the ring tone i was customize for new text message received.
so what shall i do now???!

It's surprising me coz normally it fix once your reset you PPC but if you are still facing the same after reset and doing every trick then a registry fix can cure this problem or OS re-installation is last option as there is not updated ROM is available for GSM.

Thank you for replying, i reset my PPC but have the same problem. but i Doubt on Spb Mobile Shell. does it affect on sound coz i have now 2 screen ???! but there is sound playing when incoming call on.

Might be possible. If you have all the install s/w lying with you either on Computer or Phone Memory Card then why don't you try to delete all the programs one by one and check the affected issue after each un-installation (I would be delete last installation then diagnose and so on...)

Note : take all the bakup (eg. contact / msg / Log / etc...) before doing any tricks

yes it is i am also using it personally its really good thing i am so much happy with it.
