Default Teething Problems With Touch HD

    Hi There

I recently purchased a HTC Touch HD but have been experiencing some problems. I was hoping someone might be able to help.

    1) I cannot connect to my windows live account over my phone connection even though i have a data
    allowance
    2) I cannot connect to my fastmail mail account even though i have tried everything suggested on the web ie
putting my server details in manually. I cannot even access this account through the built in opera browser?

I rely on my emails for my work and hence shifted from a nokia e71 which works flawlessly to this device.
Any help would be gretly appreciated

    Hi,

Just to say that I have been having similar problems. I cannot access the Windows Live application, and whenever I try to log in to an internet site (Hotmail, Facebook) I get an error message and the browser closes. I never used to have this problem with the same SIM card in my Nokia N95. I contacted the HTC helpdesk, who recommended a hard reboot of the device (Remove your SIM and memory card and go to Start, Settings, System, Clear Storage and follow the on-screen instructions - note that you will loose all data you have entered, so make sure you have it backed up somewhere else first). Unfortunately this made no difference and I still have the problem. I haven't been able to find any patches to either Windows Mobile 6.1 or the Opera browser, so I'm stuck. Does anyone have any ideas?

    (Otherwise a brilliant phone!)

    Jim

    Hi there.

I found out how to get round the windows live problem by mistake.
Try signing in through MSN messenger and for some reason it will automatically sign into the live account with no hiccup. You'll be able to access your hotmail account in the mail section of windows mobile. However for some reason i can only sync the inbox but cant access any of my other olders unless i sync with outlook on my pc. Also, Messenger signs out automatically for some reason, maybe its the signal strength on the phone or something.

Just gotta get smooth video playback now. Tried divx mobile - useless:
Hopeing coreplayer is going to have an upgrade SOON!!! as playback is also sluggish. Windows mobile media player even with WMV and .MP$ is sluggish. Has anyone got this working smoothly? and what setting should i be encoding at. I appreciate the full 800x600 is totally out of the question. I just want my vids to play without stuttering.

    Many thanks

Just found a solution to the problem I was having on another forum. All I needed to do was go to Start->Settings-> Connections then click on "Set up my proxy server" on the internet provider connection and finally unlick the "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet" box. Everything suddenly works; so easy when you know how.

I solved a lot of my internet access problems by loading opera mini which runs using the java module. Too many crashes with opera and IE. None since going mini - you need quite good eyesight though! It's really good.

Anyone know if a flash equivalent works with anything on the HD?
