Scratch repair

Somehow I got a scratch on my HD's screen. What is the best way to repair this? Is it even possible?

use tape/film. if scratch is not too deep, the film will hide it

Does this means we can say goodbye to screen protectors?If something like such is available to repair the scratches so I think there is no need to have screen protectors.
