    Default No sound (from speaker)

    Hi,

Since today I have a HTC Touch HD, bought second hand.
It looks very good and works good too.
There is only one problem, namely no sound is coming out of the speaker.
Ringtones, mediaplayer, notifications, all without sound.

When I insert the headset, I hear everything just fine.

When the headset isn't attached, I DON't see a headset-icon, so I think that the problem is something else thans a bad plug.

    Could somebody help me?

    Thanks in advance!
    Eduard

PS. I'm Dutch, so my English is apperantly very poor.

Sorry, difficult to ask without appearing rude, but to help understand the problem ...

I am presuming you have not got the device in a silent phone profile?

Have you checked the notification settings etc to ensure sound is selected?

When you adjust the volume using the buttons on the side of the unit do you see the volume bar scale increase on the screen?
My current device is a HTC Touch HD

    Yes,

every setting that I can change is set o.k.
The volume buttons work perfectly with the headset inserted, and appear to do the same thing without it inserted, but the result is that I don't head anything.

I placed a repair request, because I assume it's something of the hardware..

    Thanks

Sounds like you may need a new internal speaker. The only problem may be the fact that you purchased it second hand. HTC does not allow transferrance of warranty. If it is still under warranty: Do not let them know that you purchased it used.

If HTC will not honor the warranty; You can purchase the speaker on eBay & replace it yourself. This way is MUCH cheaper then allowing HTC to charge you for the repair. You can even get the official HTC service manual online @ http://mikechannon.net/PDF%20Manuals...ice_Manual.pdf
I'm Lost; I've Gone To Find Myself. If I Return Before I Get Back; Please Ask Me To Wait.
